If you’ve been hiding your smile because of stained, chipped, uneven, or worn teeth, porcelain veneers may be the most transformative option available to you. At Cowdin Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Anna Cowdin crafts custom porcelain veneers designed to look completely natural — never overdone, never cookie-cutter.
Located on Preston Road in Far North Dallas, our boutique practice serves patients from Dallas, Plano, Addison, and surrounding communities throughout the DFW Metroplex.
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin ceramic shells custom-made to fit over the front surface of your teeth. They can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns in just a few appointments, including: discoloration or staining that whitening can’t fix, chips and cracks, gaps between teeth, slightly uneven or misshapen teeth, and worn-down enamel. Because they’re made from high-quality dental porcelain, veneers reflect light the same way natural tooth enamel does — the result is a smile that looks real, not restored.
We take a conservative, preview-first approach to every veneer case. After your free consultation and 3D digital scan, we design your new smile digitally before touching a single tooth. We then 3D print a model and fabricate temporary veneers so you can see and feel your results in advance. Only once you’ve approved the look do we move forward with your permanent restorations. Most cases are completed in three appointments over four to six weeks.
Dr. Anna Cowdin is a Dallas Magazine 40 Under 40 honoree with advanced training in cosmetic dentistry and a passion for the art of smile design. She teaches continuing education courses on veneers to other dentists — which means when you sit in her chair, you’re working with someone at the forefront of the field. Our in-house 3D printing technology and conservative preparation philosophy set us apart from practices that take a one-size-fits-all approach.
Once your veneers are returned to us, we’ll remove some of the enamel from the front of your teeth. This is a necessary step to prevent your teeth from appearing too large. Then, we’ll bond the veneers to your teeth, and you’ll leave with a brand-new smile!
Porcelain veneers at our Dallas practice typically range from $2,000 to $2,500 per tooth, depending on the complexity of your case and the number of teeth involved. During your free consultation, Dr. Cowdin will evaluate your smile and provide an accurate quote tailored to your treatment plan. We also offer financing options through Cherry and CareCredit to help make your new smile accessible.
Veneers are considered a permanent treatment because a small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth surface during preparation — typically less than half a millimeter, roughly the thickness of a fingernail. Once placed, your teeth will always require a veneer or similar restoration. With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 15 to 20 years or longer before needing to be replaced.
Veneers cover only the front surface of a tooth, making them a conservative cosmetic option that preserves most of your natural tooth structure. Crowns wrap completely around the tooth and are typically recommended when a tooth is significantly weakened, cracked, or decayed. At Cowdin Cosmetic Dentistry, we pride ourselves on recommending the most conservative option for each patient — if veneers can achieve the result you’re looking for, that’s what we’ll recommend.
Most veneer cases are completed in three appointments. During your first visit, we conduct a consultation, take a 3D digital scan, and design your new smile. At your second appointment, we gently prepare your teeth and place temporary veneers so you can preview your results. Your final appointment is placement of your permanent porcelain veneers. The entire process typically spans four to six weeks.
Yes — and this is one of our favorite parts of the process. We use 3D digital imaging to design your new smile before we touch a single tooth. We then create 3D-printed mock-ups and temporary veneers so you can literally see and feel your new smile before the permanent veneers are ever made. We won’t move forward until you love what you see.
Ideal candidates for veneers are patients with healthy teeth and gums who want to address cosmetic concerns such as staining, chips, cracks, gaps, or slightly uneven teeth. Patients with significant decay, gum disease, or teeth grinding (bruxism) may need to address those issues first. Dr. Cowdin will perform a thorough evaluation during your free consultation to determine whether veneers are the right fit for your smile goals.
When done well, porcelain veneers are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Dr. Cowdin takes an artistic approach to every case — she believes in creating smiles that look effortless, healthy, and uniquely yours. We work with top dental labs to ensure the color, translucency, and shape of your veneers complement your face and your natural tooth structure.
